Hey there friends!

My life has been all over the place this year and I finally felt like it was time for me to get back into doing the things I love...and that is getting dressed up all pretty and talking mess about fashion. With that being said, You may be pleased to know that  I'm currently in the process of relaunching my blog KURVAYSHUS.B. Part of this relaunch may include a new home but we'll see how that turns out. In the meantime, I want to thank all of the people who have consistantly kicked me in the head about abandoning my blogging responsibilities. You are awesome and I hope to make you proud!!!

Everything new will be coming up within the next week or so keep your eyes peeled!

It was brought to my attention last night that this post wasn't actually viewable to some people. Well wow do I feel like a doofus (derp!). EVENT: Re/Dress NYC's Indie+ Runway Show

LOCATION: The Invisible Dog Gallery (51 Bergen Street Brooklyn, NY 11201)

DATE AND TIME: Friday, November 12th (9pm)

DETAILS: Tomorrow is opening night of Re/Dress NYC's Indie+ Trunk Show. The kick off will feature a runway event showcasing pieces from all of the designers selling in official trunk show. These marvelous lines include La'Dan's Closet, Jibri, Jessica Pritchett and Fennimas Jewelry to name a few! The event will be hosted by Tangerine Jones and Emily Rems and feature a performace by singer Celisse Henderson. Tix are availble for $15 (standing room) and $30 (seated). The shopping event takes place Friday 11/12 - Sunday 11/14. So come out, admire, shop and socialize with other fab fashionistas!

I'm one of those girls that has no problem reaching out to another lady and telling her how jealous she makes me with her all around next level flyness.  So when I saw this week's Kurvayshus Beauty, I just had to speak up!  Crystal Nicole is one of those girls that inspire me to continue to stay on top of my game when I get dressed each morning. Flawless hair and makeup and an almost sickening sense of style. The 25 year old Atlanta native is an aspiring plus model and describes her look as "Posh, with an Urban Glam Twist". She notes her fave shops as Forever21, Torrid, H+M, Asos, Ashley Stewart and, for the one of kind and original pieces, vintage/consignment spots. What I love most about her look is that she isn't afraid to take some risks and pull it off in a sexy, yet tasteful way at all times!

It's a big ole wet mess here in NY (ewww did that sound right? I'm sorry). The rain has got me in an all black dress, black tights, and boots *le sigh*. On the bright side, yesterday was nothing but sunshine and I was feeling as energetic as ever. Electric Blue and Bubblegum Pink took over me and I was feeling like a fat and fancy Barbie...

This week's Etsy Obsession is a sweet little gem I was introduced to during my stop at the Monif C grand re-opening two weeks ago. I spotted a tall curly hair beauty named Keoka who had on the cutest bronze snake skin bow earrings. When I asked where she had gotten them, my heart sped up three paces when she said that she made them herself. I LOVE HANDMADE JEWELRY and squealed for her to show me more. I saw about 6 different things that I needed in my life ASAP! Her line, I.ADORN, consists of fun and unique pieces crafted mostly from leather. And not only does Keoka offer competitive pricing but will also custom make jewelry upon request.

A day after us meeting I put in my order for three different styles (pictured below) which were all ready to go within a week. Customer service is always key and Keoka is total doll face. My next step is to try to get a bow made that is the size of my head...Don't you dare judge me!

I'm always looking for new ways to incorporate seasonal pieces and make them transitional. I have an obsession with my black tuxedo blazer that seems to have made its way from just a halloween prop to a pertinent staple of my wardrobe. It seems like every time I go out I have that thing on with a pair of jeans and a funky bag. For my friends birthday this past Friday a part of me decided to step in a territory I haven't been to in years. We all know Summer is over so I missed the sexy gravy train on that one. But what about rocking them with tights? I know many have done this before but I've always been scared. I took the risk and here was the result...

...Now this honestly isn't the best of pictures. It was the end of the night my lapel is crooked and the scarf was only on cuz it was COLD. But I must admit, I LOVE THIS LOOK! It was fun and funky and I felt kind of rebellious. I got a good reaction out of it so overall I think it went over pretty well. Anyway, here are the details...
